I'm a long 6'5" and until recently have had trans am's since my first car before I even ha my license. I would have loved one of these.

I'd love to find something for both of my z06's to make some room

If I can get ahold of a vette and a mustang, I may start making them for those too. Anyone local maybe want to let me take some measurements and pics. I know the taller mustang guys suffer.

I will get some more pics soon. The extra space is incredible. I'm also working on a way to lower the seat a little in the process to create an extra 1/2" or so of head room.

A couple months later, you still making these and will you still be making these in the next year? I'll definitely want one when I get my f-body.

I am still makeing them. I was able to lower the most recent one 3/8" below stock with a 5" extension. It wont work with less extension than that due to the angles of the seat slides. I can make them stock height easily. I had a bad experience with my last customer who still hasnt contacted or paid me since about 2 months ago so I will require payment before shipment. Let me know when you want it and how much extension and all of that and I can get working on it. Im finishing up my motor right now so my time is kind of wrapped up with that. I do have a 2" already built and sitting in my garage. It is 3/16" higher than stock but you hardly notice it. Let me know what you want to do. Thanks for the interest.

John

I don't need one (5'11, fit just perfectly into the seat with it back all the way), but I just wanted to say you're awesome for doing this.

That's why I love this community, people make something cool and help out others without being greedy on the price. Keep rockin', man.

If you know how to take the seat out and put it back in then you can install this. Remove the seat, bracket goes on factory studs and is held down with factory nuts. Put the seat on the studs I welded on and put the supplied washers and nuts on. Hook your seat controls back up. Seat maintains full power options.

So even with the 5", say if that was too much I could always just bring the seat forward? Would it hang out the back then?

Yes you can just adjust the seat ahead if it is too much. Im not sure how far it would stick out. I keep the ends trimmed fairly close to the rear mounting hole so that the factory plastic trim piece will cover it. I guess it would depend on how far you move the seat forward. I am 6'2" and only have a 2" extension and it is pretty comfortable. being 6'5" i think the 4" would do pretty good for you. I will make it 5" if you like, but the shorter you keep it, the stiffer the material is and has a lesser chance of deflection. Also, with the longer and lowered ones, I am making those in a 2 piece style without the cross tie pieces since the cross ties interfere with the seat slides.

Got a 4" extension with a 1/4" drop built. This one is already spoken for. It is a little more difficult to build since I had to grind a lot of clearance for the seat mount rivets, slides, and floor contours. Would prefer to make these ones stock height in the future. Let me know what you guys think. I took pictures but they are too big to upload. I'll figure out how to compress them and post them up. If anyone wants them before that, just shoot me an email address and I can email them out.
