I've had long legs since I started driving and learned quick how to move a seat back....Mustangs, Corvettes, and Camaros.
There's a much easier way to do it....safe, works great, and the parts are at Home Depot for less than $10.00 per seat.
1. Decide how much you want to move it back.....I always move mine back to the front of the rear seat....which is about 4-5 inches.....that way my legs can feel luxury instead of being cramped...which makes me hate a car.
2. Go to Home Depot and get a peice of flat bar steel 36" long X 1.5" X ?1/8
3. Get 4 bolts and washers and lock washers and nuts (5/16x1 will do)
4. Cut bar stock in half (I use a makita angle grinder). If you are nice to the Home Depot guys they will cut it in half for you.
5. Remove seat
6. Drill holes in bar to secure to floor on each side
7. Set seat on bars (one on each side) and mark new holes with pencil or marker or scratch with nail.
8. Drill new holes to mount seat bracket.
9. Bolt seat brackets to new bars and then install.....
Easy Peasy Lemon squeezee...
I am NOT a fabricator and it take me about 45 minutes per seat....Vettes are worst and Porsches are the ABSOLUTE worst.
Note: The passenger side is very contoured.....use a vice to put some bends in your bar before you drill the rear holes.
I snapped some quick pics on the passenger one I did last weekend in my 16year olds car (he has long legs too, go figure).....haven't even painted it yet.
You should be able to figure out any holes in my work instructions.
Yes....this is not a stock seat, but its mounted on the stock rails I took off the old seat....I can't believe it fit....that was a first. The seats are ebay chinese specials from DNA motorsports ....$180 per (score!) vinyl, nice bolsters and 21" wide. Good seat.

I decided not to wait any longer and I used fasteddy's idea and it worked great! Having an extra 4-6 inches of leg room is FANTASTIC!! It is like driving a completely different car. Well worth the $9 I spent!
