Default Shifter Plaque Install Question?

This might be a stupid question, I'm going to replace my stock shifter plaque with this: http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/35ancass.html
My stupid question is what's the best way to remove the stock one?
I assume that you need to get something underneath to pry it up, but that's easier said than done with out scratching the surrounding surface area.
Anyone here replace their's and how did you remove the old one?

Thanks!
Brian

Thanks any way.

Give it some time some one will reply. I'll make a suggestion although iv never done it. If it was me is probably take some piano wire and slide it under the lip of the plaque. And slowly pull it under to cut the adhesive behind it.

Never done this either but I agree piano wire or fishing line will work.

Run into the same problem. Have one collecting dust. Website states it is designed to fit over the stock one. I assumed it would be notched but its flush and therefore doesn't fit.
