Painting the engine I was wondering what others have found to be a good paint for the engine. I have painted an engine with duplicolor high temp paint out of a can before and had poor results.
Do you think that a automotive basecoat/clearcoat would be a way to go? I have painted cars before but never tried an engine. Do you think the paint would hold up to the heat? I was thinking of powdercoating it but that cost alot more.
My plans are to BC/CC the block intake and acc. brackets and maybe get the heads powdercoated since they would see the most heat.

I was told to use an etching primer and then use a single stage paint. you could use clear over the single stage for the best gloss but make sure you use a single stage for the color it holds up better to the heat.
