I want to do the exact same thing, I have a black berger on my white z but I don't want tot black out the tail lights, just want them a little darker. Stock does stick out too much especially the orange Looks awesome, just may have to attempt mine now

Great job op! I don't think smoked lights get enough attention lol. Its a real cheap mod and makes a nice difference. I always blacked mine out but this gave me the drive to go for it lol.

the firebirds look better "blacked out" But with your berger being flat in color high gloss black would look a little weird i like how they look now. My vht on the back of my t/a i think is 3-4 coats of vht wet sanded and polished no clear and i'm pretty sure there still glossy sitting in the garage
