umm don't know if any are available anymore check nopi

really u might want to think twice bc 2 grand can be better spent elsewhere in my opinion and if u have t-tops ur gonna have leakage problems. also the kit that was/is available does not use hydrolics or springs and our doors are heavy compared to the general weight of doors modified with these kits.

think awhile(or a really really really long time) about this idea before u do it. when i think of lambo doors not on a lambo what do i think of? yes thats right civic. prime example of people putting lambo doors on their cars?-did u catch that episode of "PIMP MY RIDE" on mtv featuring the purple civic with dual racing stripes by any chance?

Anyways if u like it do it, don't listen to me.

AutoLoc also makes a kit. I dont think its application specific, but it is way over priced at $1900 for the standard kit and $2500 for the deluxe kit. It is electric though. I don't get it. How can a couple hinges, linear actuators and optional remotes cost that much?

autoloc make actuators that will lift over 250lbs on 12 volts and are about the size of a couple packs of cigs...

ya with black...first off, why? You own an Fbody not an Lamborghini. I doubt the doors would even be considered safe in an impact since you have to relocate the hinges. We call all vouch and say these aren't very "light" doors, and now your gonna lift it upward...then pull it down. Well it would be very easy going down, but up I'm not so sure about. If you ahve t tops im sure the door would hit them since the door cants inward...but i guess if there is a kit that been figured out. well have fun, interested to see how it turns out.

I looked again. It looks like the basic kit ($1900, msrp:$2500) has pneumatic pistons/struts like the hood/hatch and the deluxe kit($2500, msrp:$3500) has the linear actuators. I still think its over priced. Especially the standard kit since its just hinges and struts.

In one kit I looked at...the door pops out before it raises up..... that is supposed to deal with all the clearance problems...i do know that on some cars there is a little bit of modification needed...and for it not opening the "large" doors of the camaro/trans am..... there isnt a need to worry over that...most kits come with a 250 lb lift rating...and i dont know of any 250 lb doors... I have seen these installed on all types of vehicles....and i've yet to see autoloc's kit break or not lift a door... except when the installer screws up

not worth it...they arent true lambo doors...they open up about 1ft and half than go up n outward..."gullwing" would be a better terminology for it. doors are waaayy to heavey to be up in the air like that..lol..in my opinion. looks good, but 2 grand would make you atleast a sec faster in the 1/4...and handle better..

The door type pictured is often called "butterfly". I bet you can guess why.

It can be done and I have seen the finished product. There was a link over at the CamaroZ28 message board a couple years ago.
