96-->98 Dash pad build First things first, I want to personally thank everyone on here who has provided any info in reference to custom created dash/crash pads. I have been researching since i purchased a 98 z28 without a dash pad. I have a dilemma with spending 300$ on a replacement piece which will likely be a repeat problem. I'm a simple one time solution is the best kinda guy.
My problem is that before i researched i found a 96 camaro dash pad, almost in perfect condition from a junkyard and purchased it. As anyone who has researched has learned, there is a bit of difference in shape mainly in the defroster area. Due to how close the pad is to the one i am in need of, I have decided that i am going to attempt create the 98 modification to the 96 dash and vinyl wrap it.
If anyone one has done this or attempted it, any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to use fiberglass and cardboard to create the plastic pieces and a metal vent.
