Default Front Suspension Rebuild

I decided it was time to do the front suspension over. Too much rust and it doesn’t match my rear suspension’s color scheme.
  • For durability reasons I'm keeping the stock parts. I also prefer them aesthetically over aftermarket tubular stuff.
  • Rubber bushings are the only thing I will consider. Minimizing NVH is a priority.
  • I'll be reinstalling rubber motor mounts, as I really regret using poly for that location. The added vibration bugs me.

The current state:

The strano springs will be re-powder coated in a gloss black.

The sway bar will be gloss black as well. The remainder of the items will be powder coated silver.

It's looking really good.

How much did the powder coating run you?

Looks great, just dug into mine also. Attempted to install stranos/konis and relized all my bushings were shot. So ordered all new moog stuff and brought it to the shop to be installed. They wanted 160$ to replace the bushings. After all the cost involved I just ordered all new umi stuff with roto joints. Yours looks awesome though.

Looks pretty nice. I did the same thing to mine last year.. I wish I could've caught you before you did it. The enormous amount of weld spatter on the k-member really bugs me on mine. I would've advised you clean it up before powdercoating. but, still much better than stock.

I know, i noticed the same thing (after it was powder coated of course). Too late now. I'll have the engine out later in the year. Maybe I'll grind it back then, and repowder it.
