I'm debating putting aero latches on my car also. How hard was the install? I'm scared to cut holes in my perfect hood. But I'd like to get rid of the factory latch system to suit the racecar style a bit more, and clean it up a bit at the core support.

Copy cat....

Great minds think alike. The aero catch latches are definitely a cool touch.

Thanks man, I looked at yours and another guys mounting area off the bump stops and went with it. I couldn't so it to my stock ws6 hood so that is why I got the wsq. Looks sharp man!

I know this thread is more than a year old but could do you have any close up pics of the mounting studs?

The mounting studs go where the factory bump stops are on each corner.

Open the hood on a factory firebird, look right above the lights, there are rubber bumpstops there on each side. Remove those, bolt up the studs, drill hole in hood, center the latch over the stud, cut, mount the latch, done.

Gotcha. What size washers did you end up using? The ones Aerocatch provided are too small.

Some updated pics for you all. As for the washers, I used whatever I had in the box. Probably get some decent stainless ones from ace.

Looks awesome!! I had hood pins on my 89 Formula, I would love these on my 02 but I don't know if they'll flow nicely with my car

Car looks great man! Here's a stupid question, has anyone mounted the aerocatch latches backwards? I know you aren't supposed to but it seems like they would flow better with the car.
