Default What's needed to convert to power seats

I tried the search function and found old threads by people who had added power seats at one time but not really any how to threads. If I buy a complete set of power seats does a car with manual seats already have provisions in the wire harness somewhere to hook them up. What is needed? Passed up on good deal because seller was unsure how hard it would be for me to install. I have a 98 Formula.

All you need is the power seat itself, even cars that came with manual seats have the hookup for power seats underneath the existing seat on the floor. Power seats are heavier, however.

I acquired the car through a trade and the drivers seat is trashed so I was weighing the options. Way to much to reupholster so it's either buy a used set or maybe the 6LE seats. I'll look again but I didn't see a wiring harness under the drivers seat. I know other GM vehicles I have owned did have connections for options that I did not have like fog lights and such. Thanks for the info.

It may be tucked under the carpet in a slit. Check local junkyards for fbodys, youd be surprised sometimes.
