Default Need help with installing/buying new carpet!

I got one from auto custom carpets and it's heat molded but not cut to size at all. It'll literally take my a good 6 hours to get this thing into the floor pan correctly and cut everything out, and even then I don't think it will look right. Does anyone know where I can but a carpet that's actually custom fit and cut?

All new replacement carpet comes with excess on it for you to cut, along with having to cut all the holes for seat bracket bolts and such.

Really? I hate to sound like a whiner but that's BS. My dad said he got a carpet for his 67 firebird back in the day, cut to specs and heat molded for 150, and it's dropped right in. It's pathetic how companies can charge 250 for a product they claim is quality and still leave you with literally a full day of work.

I think it has something to do with the tolerances on the car trim and everything. If they cut it "exact" that exact fit might not be quite right for some and show carpet edges.

Most of the time they do get the molding done right. It'll take a little bit to settle in since the carpet was all rolled or folded up. I believe you want to unfold it outside the car and let it sit for a little bit spread out to recover a bit. Then put it in the car.

I saw an instructional video on youtube that went through all the details a while back pretty clearly and concisely. I don't remember the exact one, but there are several from different people on there that should help.
