Get a quality ballast. They CAN be found on ebay. The one on top is the style you want. The Xentec ballast are cheaply built and give off a color that isnt what it should be. VVME on ebay. I have 35w AC 6000k color

Also Xentec which came on the car (35w 6000k)

QUALITY 35w 6000k

Get proper housings for the HIDs too. Don't be "that guy" with HIDs in the reflectors.

And on the projector or stock housing debate. Friend in OC with a Fbody got pulled over because his headlights were "too bright"

I havent had this problem and even ended up replacing a ddm ballast with a xentec and had NO issues. No color different.

But I use the fullsize xentec not the slim balasts. I hate slim ballasts.

Wifes G8 with a DDM and a Xentec(full size ballast) in the headlights. And then some LED fog light bulbs to match the color.

I honestly dont remember if those are both the DDM bulbs or if I replaced the one side when trouble shooting her issue.

What projectors are you using? If you can't see with them you either have crap projectors or have them aimed all weird. I'm running projectors, they light up 5 lanes of highway in front of me yet don't throw light in other drivers' faces, or into their windows, or light up the trees. Well, unless I hit the high beams of course.

Don't be a jerk and throw glare at other drivers with basically high beam bulbs on all the time. 35W HID puts out around the same lumens as the 65W halogen high beam.

Same thing happened to me and I got a new one a few days later. I run a set in each of my cars and have been pleased.

I've got Xentecs in my low beams that I got off of eBay. They don't look too bad. I got another set from a guy in town I know for my fog lights. Both are 10,000K. The ones I got from my local guy had a much more quality ballast and the difference in the lights are night and day. Both are in projectors so I'm not "that guy" either lol.
