Default eBay hid kit

Just wondering has anyone bought and used this kit. How easy is it to install and how do you like it? ***NOT-A-SPONSOR.org.gov.com.edu***

I would suggest researching HIDs before you buy something. That kit will work I guess but without projectors it won't work well and will just blind oncoming traffic. Bright for the sake of being bright won't make our **** poor lighting any better. It just hurts others without making your driving safer.

lol oh God here we go. He is not asking what the proper set-up is, and as far as you guys know, he might already have projectors (yeah, I know, most likely not lol)

I have had nothing but bad experiences with ebay HID kits

DDMtuning.com has great kits. Been running a setup on my fogs and low beams for about two years with zero issues and I drive in the dark every day.

Like said above, it is smart to research it before buying.

Lol I love it. I always know going into a HID thread that the "Projector worshipers" will be shortly behind. No I do not have HID's and when I do, I will be doing the LMC kit

Sealed beam conversions. A good halogen upgrade from the crappy sealed beams the birds have, but are still no good for HID

We're not "projector worshippers" as much as just sticklers for doing things the right way. HID in stock halogen housings isn't the right way

Anyway, I have an ebay kit in my high beams. Its one of the older ones. It is OK and I haven't had any issues with it for the few years I've had it, but they aren't as bright and the bulb color isn't as accurate as the Morimotos I have for my low beams (which are bixenon so they do high beam also).

I like my car to represent my work ethic, so I don't put **** parts on it and brag about it to my friends. I do it right, keep it clean, and let it speak for itself.

Here is my **** part setup on my car that I'm obviously doing wrong. LMC kit with a VVME 35w 6000k kit.

Good ballast over a low quality xentec ballast

The xentec slim ballast that was on the car was junk. It is also a DC ballast and not an AC. Here is a pic of a 35w 6000k xentec kit that was on it when I bought it. Notice how blue the output is.

Oh I gotcha. Both of those look too blue for my taste, have you ever considered 4500K-5000K? It has more of a white light that is close to OEM (BMWs, Mercedes, etc.). Very cool color and best for light output.

Yea the new lmc housing is more white than it looks on my high quality cell phone picture lol. 6k is as high as i would ever go and your right about the 4500-5000 range being best for light output.

I'm running 5000k myself. 6000k had just a little more blue hue than I wanted. Thought about trying out 4300k on my truck but ordered 5000k out of habit.

And yup, I see glare from those HID in those LMC housings

Most OEM bulbs are 4300K. The reason 6000K looks blue is because it is blue.

Ya my car is just my toy and I can't see spending 8-900 on a projector hid kit. Just not gonna happen.

homerunhtr21, I know you are trying to be ironc/funny in your posts, but your pics show exactly why you shouldn't put HID in Halogen Reflector Housings. That beam pattern is wrong. You shouldn't be lighting up the entire wall all the way up. That is blinding to other drivers.

Then don't. You can do it for $200-$300. Look in the Lighting FAQ.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...hting-faq.html
If you get the right deals and are handy, you could possibly do it for under $200.

Also, the BLS V2 kit is $525 shipped. So even that ready-made kit is half the price of your retort.

It is the experienced/knowledgeable VS.... You guys.

There is a reason we "worship" them as you put it.

You are showing your ignorance. I could go on and on and on as to why you shouldn't or should do either...

Best example.. Would you put an MS4 cam in a car with a stock exhaust/intake/head setup? Then why put HIDs in a halogen setup?

I have:
Projectors 80$ shipped
projector adapter plates (could easily make yourself) 50$
HID kit 40#

That is all you need... So now what is you guys' excuse for doing something the completely wrong/ricer way?

FWIW... I went HID in a halogen conversion housing first.. Then took them out and bought stuff to do it the correct way.
