How to change map light bulb?

Ok I've searched and searched and all I can find is info on the '01-'02 cars. How do I change the map light bulbs in my '99 Z28? I know they have different rear view mirrors.

very carefully, LOL. the plastic cover pops off and the bulb is a "tube" style, like the hatch light on the 99's so you need to get something up there to pull one end out of the holder then holding that end with something (if you can't get it with your fingers) pull the other end free, same process you would use for the hatch light just more a risk of breaking the bulb due to the tight constraints of the mirror.

I have an 01 and it was hard to grip the bulb tight enough without breaking the bulb. My finger tips kept slipping off, but I eventually removed the bulb and used only my finger tips.

it's different on the 01, https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...bulb-list.html 01-02 used a 921 bulb which is like the 194 side marker bulbs but bigger so how to get it out is different then on a 99 that uses bulbs like what is in the rear hatch light.

98 camaro map lights have a smaller tab on the inside vs the windshield side so just delicately use tiny screw driver from the light switch side and they should pop out

It's best to pull the fuse first. Try needle nosed pliers to bend the tab that hoods the loop end in place. Swap the bulb and bend the tab back in place. Put the fuse back in.
