Default Sprinkler

I'm tired of this one sprinkler in my complex that turns on very early in the morning a couple times a week. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this or adjust it? It is one of the smaller ones, so I'm not sure if its even adjustable, it comes up as a skinny tube from the ground.

I talked to the property manager and he said its managed by the city, so I don't know if I really have any control on this but its really irritating, I want to break it or put something heavy on it so it just gets stuck!

It's this style.

The complex I lived in years ago had theirs set to shoot far out past the grass into the parking lot. They refused to correct the problem, so I got good kicking it when I walked by. It was the same type of sprinkler, the little black head that pops up when it comes on. It was a last resort because they would do nothing and I was sick to death of trying to escape my car being subjected to really heavy hard water spots.

If that is the kind I am thinking of, the top of it should have a gold ring on it? If that is the kind I think it is, if you turn the ring it turns the pressure down that it puts out, therefore making it not shoot as far.

Perhaps stick some "decorative" rocks around the area that sprays to the parking area -- large enough that they block that part of the spray when the head is up. I suggest a rock because it'll likely be the most inconspicuous thing you can use.

Twist it and see if it will spray in a different direction. Or find a different parking spot.

The Parking spots are paid for and assigned "Stupid" I know, but I intentionally picked a corner spot right in front of my window so the car is close to me, lol.

I would just break the thing especially if your having to pay to park there, they should respect your property just as well as you should resepect there's. There made of nothing more than some PVC plastic if I remember right.

Be careful if you "accidentally" break it...they can spray even more water when broken.

Wonder if a tent peg would hold it down if placed beside it, and mistakenly left there.

wrap it in some electric tape.. doesn't damage their property, blends in so it isn't noticed, and still prevents water from going everywhere..

^ Going to try this, I never see the sprinkler on because I am sleeping and im sure it goes on at 4 am. So i'll just have to type while its in the ground, I can see the head of it, right at the surface of the dirt.

Should be able to get a small skinny flat head screwdriver and turn center set screw to turn down the spray. These are the types I have in my yard.

What brand is it (rainbird and toro are the most popular) ? Pictures? I have done a lot of sprinkler installations and most could be adjusted with a flat head screwdriver. If it is the misting kind then you can just gum up the filter. If it is the kind that shoots a rotating stream then it can be adjusted with a flat head. If you break it the wrong way you will get a small geyser and if the grass around it starts to die then they will just fix it anyway and probably keep an eye on you because they know you complained.
