Default Window Scratches

So I recently got my windows tinted and some scratches showed up from the darker tint which kind of ruins the look. How can I fix these? I'm hoping they're on the outside of the window instead of under the tint. It looks like they are from being rolled up and down so many times.

Here's the best pic I could get to show them:

Most of that isn't going to be scratches. It's hard water stains. It's from rolling the windows up and down while wet and the streaked water drying on the window. I was able to get rid of mine with some cutting compound and a DA polisher. You could also use something like the Car Pro Ceriglass Kit by hand.

Here is an example of mine before and after:

I don't have a better picture of the windows after unfortunately but you get the idea.

Sounds like ill have to try that. Hopefully it will take the streaks out. It's on both sides. Also, it has a horizontal mark that looks like a burn mark at the top of the window. Any idea about what this is?

It's the same thing, and will also come out with rubbing compound or glass polish. I believe it's caused from the window being left in the rolled down position. The rubbing compound takes a few passes and bit of eblow grease so don't be discouraged if it doesn't seem like it's going away at first.

I used an SOS with the soap in it pad with water. you can't do it on the inside because of the tint but do that to clean the outside of the glass, then your normal glass cleaner and it will go away. its crap getting on the glass from years of gunk building up on the guides and felt strips.

I'm wondering how well CLR may work on this? It chemically cleans scale and works great in the house.

What cutting compound did you use?

Meguiars Ultimate Compound on an Optimum microfiber cutting pad. Ideally something like the ceriglass would have been more ideal to use but I already had the Ultimate Compound on hand. It took a little longer but got the job done.

I had terrible hard water build up on my car, it was literally a solid layer of hard water and oxidation. I used #0000 steel wool and Weiman glass cooktop cleaner to get the build up off it did not scratch the glass for me but anyone using it I would recommend always doing a small test spot before you dive in.
