Default Removing and Polishing the A/C Dryer...

I've removed just about everything thats a bolt and polished it to a mirror finish, including other various items (MAF, LS6 Valley Cover, AIR, Exhaust block off plates etc...). What I'd like to do next is the dryer and the associated A/C lines.

I'd even consider removing it and having braided lines fitted like Steve, however I don't know where he had his done or the cost involved.

Can those who have removed this part give me some details on how to safely remove, polish and re-install without hurting any of the A/C components. Also isn't their a kit that allows you to re-charge the A/C without taking to a shop ?

Thanks

replace the O rings no matter what, you can recharge yourself, but it wont be nearly as good as if you take it and have a vacum pulled on it and charged. I to will eventually get mine pulled apart and braided line. At a friends body shop they had a car that had the braided lines... Trying to get a line on where they got them. If Steve posts up what size the line is I can have the lines made, but until i findout what type of line etc..

Also be sure and purge the system before removing the dryer.

If you remove the dryer off the car you should replace it it fells up with whater and then i not good it has one of those bags in it that attracts water and in like 20 min on a humid day can make it go bad. Just a thought.

Hard to explain, my buffing wheels make any aluminum look like chrome. Ive tried to buff by hand and it looks good but nothing compared to the other parts I've removed and machine polished.

Thanks to those who have posted so far. Keep'em coming.

Also let me know what you find out Brandon . Braided lines would balance out the rest of my braided lines under the hood.

My a/c is out of the car. When it was in, I used mothers to polish it by hand. It looked awesome. But like what has already been said, when you put it back together, you can refill it yourself. Just need two cans of the cold stuff and the hose/gauge dealio that does it. But if it's off for any amount of time (longer than a day or two) I'd have a dealer vac pull it and recharge it.

I removed mine just before the cam install, and took the opportunity to polish it up. Here's a before and after picture of mine (I had hand polished it in the before picture:
