99 z Well to make a long story short i crashed my z an put a 94 front end on. Right now thers a hole cut in the hood for the lid.
Now seeing as this is a bit different than lt1 guys swaping on a lid figured id ask.
I dont want to cut anything to make a hood fit. So what cowl hood will fit the lid with no mods at all?
I like the sunoco wide but il go with what works

from the looks of it, you could probably get away with a harwood hood or any of the cowl hoods. How high did the hood sit up when it was hitting the box? as in how much room did it need underneath to come down all the way? measuring that should help in figuring things out

No thats not mine but i did pretty much the same. His is a bit cleaner lookin toolol. I havnt measured but it sticks a couple inches past the top of the hood. I didnt want to swap but after the crash the parts were free. The hood was the last thing to go on and at the time i didnt know it wasnt gona work so i made a temporary fix. I have the stock z28 lid with the big baffles so that dosnt help either. Id hate to order a hood and still have to hack up my car even more. So i want one thats big enough no matter what
See if someone can post up measurements of how wide the different cowl hoods are, like the sunoco, Sunoco wide, hardwood, etc. and then compare that to how wide the stock lid is.
With the hood closed, measure the distance from the bumper to the front of the lid. And then have someone measure that same distance underneath their hood (of the ones mentioned before) to see how deep the cowl is recessed at that point, and how wide it is at that point.

Honestly? You will probably have to remove the lid setup and route everything like the LT1 intakes came with. The slope of the LT1 hoods is pretty steep. A local guy wanted to swap his setup on his LT1 to an LS1 lid type with his Ultra Z hood and it still wasn't even close.
