What color do you like with pewter?
I am having my car repainted and while Im at it I am going to put Hockey stripes on it and paint the sides of the glasteck hood the same color as the hockey stripes.
Problem is I can't decide on a color. I'd like to stay away from black. What would you guys do?

Red.. "bland" colors like silver, white and pewter benefit from a brighter accent color.. but the key is to use it in moderation.. DONT GO OVERBOARD!!
Charcoal goes with everything and has a great "classy" look..
My old SS used red AND charcoal as accents.. the thing with metallic colors like silver, charcoal and stuff almost dont count as accent colors since they simulate metallic finishes. You dont count the silver color of your engine block as an accent, or the chrome silver color of your wheels. Thats why these colors can be used with a bright accent color like blue or red and its ok.. whereby mixing red AND blue together would look horid.
The key is to use the right mix and create a layered look that its more layered and dosen't look forced or too "busy"

Check my webshots site for pics of my pewter 99 TA with red stripes. *I* liked it, and so did most everyone who saw it, but it is definitely *NOT* subtle...
Good luck!

As much as I admire Steve's old engine bay, red on the outside of a pewter car doesn't look right to me. I like the metallic charcoal idea as well, possibly silver, or even the candy gold that Razor shows.
