Default Which stock seats are better?

My seats are pretty worn out, and I have thought about reupholstering them, but I don't have the $700+ to do what I want. I have also seen full stock sets in good shape go for less than half that on here. If I were to buy a decent set of stock seats, which would ve better, firebird/trend am, or camaro?

Ive had all different models and years of this gen fcar. The best imo goes to 93-02 base cloth firebird seat and the 96-02 articulating leather pontiac seat. I listed 96-02 on the articulating seat because I personally dont like the 93-95 version of the same seat as the lower cushion is rock hard. In 96 GM made the knee bolster non-adjustable, the revised 1 piece lower cushion was much better imo.

Which models came with the articulating seats? I.e. Was it a special option or anything?

It was available on all the firebirds/ta's from 93-02. There was a few revisions over the years and few variations. The best versions were the 98-02 with the articulating option.

In your second last post, you said the 96-02 seats. In this post, you say 98-02.

Is there a difference between the 96 and 98 seats?

Yes

93-95 Articulating seats. Cloth or leather. No power seat tracks. Electric lumbar. Manual adjustable knee bolster. The big headrests that were adjustable forward/backward/up/down . If these seats were in the base firebird or formula, the headrest was the slim headrest that just went up and down. Colors available were (leather)graphite, camel, light grey, white, 25th anniversary white, and bright red(cloth) all but red.

96-97 Articulating seats. Cloth or leather for 96, 97 leather only. Same as above but without the adjustable knee bolster, so the lower seat cushion was one piece. IMO it was more comfortable than the rock hard 93-95 style.
Colors:
96- (leather)graphite, neutral, light grey, white and bright red(cloth) all but red.
97- medium dark pewter, neutral and white. Only available in leather
Versions in the firebirds and formulas got the slim headrests again.

98-02 Went to power seat tracks and the new style rectangular lumbar buttons. Also replaced the big adjustable headrest with the slim base firebird style on ALL models. Also the articulating seat was an option now even in the trans am. If the articulating option wasnt selected, you got leather versions of the base firebird seat.
Colors:
98-99- medium dark pewter, neutral, white and 30th anniversary white(99)
00-02- ebony, camel/ebony 2-tone and neutral

There was alot of varation over the years.

When I said 96-02 I was mostly referring to the lower cushion being the best. But "overall" the 98-02 that had all the revisions I think is the best.

Honestly any firebird seat is gonna be better than any camaro seat. The cloth ones hold you in real tight too. I would just go with whichever one you find in the best condition, that matches, for the best price.

Like mentioned cloth firebird seats are the best. If you can get the power cloth seats out of a formula you are golden. They hug your sides and have a bucket feel to them

Trans am seats sit too high up and too close to the steering column for me.

Camaro seats feel like sitting on slippery banana peels

Is there a way to convert power seats, or to set them up to work in my car?

I've seen them look alright in camaro's. My car is a frankenstein anyway, might as well keep with that formula!

Typically the cars that didnt have power seats still had the pigtail connector for the power seats. Its just tucked under the carpet.

This. It was cheaper to make one electrical system and install manual seats than to create different wiring harnesses based upon selected options and switch up assembly per car.
