Default Drying off the car

How do you guys dry off the car?

Right now I am using "the absorber" works pretty good but in NJ's humidity its nearly impossible to dry the car in time.

I am thinking of picking up one of these to do the bulk of the drying,
http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...0&bidsite=null
then going around with the absorber for the rest of the car.

What do you think?

Here's a trick I learned on here:

After finishing your wash, take the hose nozzle off of the end of the hose and rinse the car down with a smooth, open water stream. This will make the water "sheet" off of the car and will cut your drying time significantly. Most use microfibre towels to dry. I just ordered some towels, but currently I use a Water-Sprite synthetic chamois with decent results. I know this sounds strange, but the sheeting really works...Yesterday, I finished drying my S-10 in about 5 minutes with this technique.

That Big Blue Towel, from properautocare is excellent. I received my order last week and using (the nozzle off to sheet water and then drying with) this towel is painless and very quick without having to wring the towel. Make sure to wash before first use.

Ususally when you buy cheep, you get cheep results. I've learned that the hard way. Go with the good stuff.

I used to do the same thing. Now when I am done washing the car, I get in it and drive it around for a few minutes with a quick 100 mph burst. Then towel off the few remaining drops off water.

Yep, but then you add dust to the car and risk dragging dust across the finish = scratches.

Default cali water blade`

I use the california water blade for the bulk of the drying - works great but keep cleaning the "blade" as you go. One little grain of sand and you're f#cked...

I also heard the Mr.Clean Auto-Wash-Dry whatever the f they call it greatly increases that "sheeting" action so less water sticks to the car. I got it for Christmas and still haven't used it yet - anyone else used it?

mako22,

I like your website. The car is tastefully done
Also, the "news" and "hate" sections of the site
are f***king hilarious

On topic, get the Big Blue from CMA....you'll never
use anything else after trying it.
