Default Alcantra accents?

Is anyone rocking alcantra on the inside? I plan on updating the interior a bit in my TA and Im having a tough time deciding between alcantra or leather. Plan on doing shift boot, armrest, e-brake handle/boot, door panels, ect.. Any help and pictures would be appreciated. A search didnt come up with much..

I personally don't like alcantara that much. To me it's a material that belongs in supercars only. Again, that is my personal opinion. I really like Nappa leather the most when it comes to car interiors. I've always been a fan of it. I ordered a few pieces from RedlineGoods in that stuff.

I dont have pictures for ya, but I have done alot if research for my own personal upcoming project with it. Unless things have changed, the only place in the USA to get the real Alcantara brand name is gulf fabrics in florida. Amazingly they will sell it by the yard. 9002 is the color that matches the 00-02 ebony, ive got samples. There is alot of different types of suede, but nothing compares to Alcantara imo, especially when it comes texture.

In a trans am, I think the steering wheel, shifter&boot, ebrake, door inserts and seat inserts in alcantara and the rest of the seat in nappa leather would be badass. Thats pretty much the plan for my Camaro.

The 9002 is charcoal right? Thats exactly what I planned with the steering wheel and door inserts down the road. I planned on getting it through a sponsor (Redline) and their out of Poland I believe. I honestly was going to go with black which is 9040 but Im not totally sure on that yet. Trying to match this shifter..

Ah cool, I didnt realize redline sold bulk material. Nice to know. As far color, the that C6 shift **** is 9002, which as you said is charcoal. The black alcantara is a true black, several shades darker than gm's ebony. Look at some z11 package vette interior image, the suede wheels and all accents are 9002. All the Audi interiors with suede are 9002 as well. Im not sure of any OEM that has used 9004 black or I'd point you to something to reference off of.

Good to know man thanks. I sent Redline a picture of the shift **** and they said go with black. The picture of the shift **** looks dark to me and more like black but I never looked into it.

I would post pictures for you but I just ordered the pieces a very short time ago and am waiting for one to come in the mail and for the other to be made still. Nappa leather is the same stuff BMW uses in all of their cars. After I get them both in I'm going to do an install guide/review on them. I'm sure you have already caught this on their site but the more stuff you order from them at one time, the better discount you get.

Ya I did notice that and their prices are very reasonable. I havent read a negative review and everyone raves about the quality and craftsmanship. If you dont mind me asking, what did you order?

Yeah I've heard of some people complaining about the prices but I think they are very fair. No I don't mind you asking. I bought a black Nappa leather cover for the center console armrest with 6/8" padding and black stitching, and I also bought the the same setup for each of the door armrests. They are still prototyping the door armrests though so they aren't on the site yet. I just mentioned on one of their posts here that if they made a product for the door armrests that I would buy them and they contacted me about it and are going to make them. So it's pretty cool that I'm going to be the Guinea Pig for those.

Later down the road I really like the cover for the gauge cluster they have too.

Not too long. Probably just a few weeks or so. Yeah I'm excited for them too. I just hope they are not too much of a pain to install. The center console looks really easy to put on.

I think a mix of leather with a little Alcantra here and there would look awesome. I'm doing this to my truck but using ultra suede. How much does gull fabrics charge per yard?

Your right and thats the new plan. Going with nappa leather shift boot, ebrake handle, ebrake boot, and armrest. Gonna go with alcantra door panels and a mix of alcantra/nappa leather on the steering wheel. Possibly gauge bezel in alcantra too. I couldnt tell you how much they charge per yard but you can email them or PM them on here.

The last I knew the Alcantara brand name was $99/yd for panel grade, and $104/yd for seating grade. Panel grade is thinner for wrapping parts, and seating is thicker and more durable. I will have to check Redline's prices per yard, that would be great if they are cheaper.

Leather dash and door panels from a TA and leather center console with alcantera shift boot and ebrake boot as well as a alcantera headliner and a pillar. That's my plan for my Camaro's interior. I too am looking forward to seeing the door armrest.

I think the leather with some alcantara here and there would be the way to go. It would look classy.

Here is the center console cover before I stretched it and glued it to get the wrinkles out:
