I have a 96SS that I am looking to do a restoration project on.
Unfortunatley the previous owner swapped out the SS spoiler for a RK Sport
Does anyone know where I can buy one from or have seen any listed for sale?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the tip do you know anybody who has bought one before and if they align good. Would this be preferred over the RKSport or Classis Industries Model.
Maybe seeing if anyone has any experience with these reproductions.

The one 6LE sells isn't the 96 spoiler but the one for 98-02 with the center posts as far as I know! Those are hard to come by, there is one on eBay right now for $460. I don't believe any aftermarket ones are available!

I bought an OEM 96-97 SS spoiler off ebay for $300 shipped like two weeks ago.
I actually submitted a couple of "best offers" to the seller that someone posted up a couple posts up, and that guy won't budge on his asking price. $460 is way too much. I offered him all the way up to $375 and was declined every time. Then I found the one I bought and offered $300 for it and the seller accepted. Granted they are more rare since they were only available for two years, but don't get ripped off by someone thinking they have gold.

The problem I am running into now is that there are a few companies that make aftermarket replicas (Hawks, Classic Industries, RKSport) but I am always weiry of this.
I would be more than willing to spend around $300 as the previous poster did but $460 is a little high.
Also did anyone notice the Z28 on the brake light. Did they originally have that? Or am I assuming right in thinking thats just a sticker that was added.
Also whats the likelyhood that the spoiler is OEM and not actually just one of these reproduction pieces.

Thanks Sparky
Any opinions or input on the Reproduction pieces would be appreciated as to their fit and comparison to OEM Pieces. Part of me wants to by an OEM but part of me would rather buy a replica in case the fit is not good I can return for another.

If you want OEM fit get OEM, if you can deal with a lesser than OEM like fit ( I couldn't after seeing a few aftermarket ones vs the real deal) then get an aftermarket place. You'll notice some reviews say it fit fine and some say it fit like **** and nothing was correct. These are mostly subjective reviews because someone could have a really **** way of looking at things, and some could have not clue of the difference. I encourage you to look at an OEM one beside an aftermarket one in person if possible.

How would you verify as OEM vs Replica after it has been painted alongside with the car.
Also if you would be so gracious I would be more than willing to buy yours?
just messing but no seriously

Usually there is a serial number on the bottom of the spoiler near the threaded mounting bolts. It's like "GD******" where the *'s are numbers. It was like that on the LS1 SS spoiler and hood, I verified that before I purchased my oem pieces for my old 99 Z28. I don't see why it would be any different on the LT1 pieces, everything else was usually serialized.
