I did some research a few years back to make the same product. I couldn't make the business model work. Seems like it would be even harder with that many more F-bods in the boneyards.

Found out about this today myself. Whomever pulls the trigger and gets one and install it and it's legit, post some pics and give an honest eval of how it looks. I priced one out at a local dealer here in Tampa and the cost new was $425. The only thing that bothers me is that for me I would have to paint it since I have the graphite interior so for me by the time I got it prepped, painted, messed it up it might just be better to buy a GM one.

the ones in the boneyards are worthless. most of them are wrecked so the pads/dashes are destroyed. It took me about 5 yards and I found an ebony dashpad... which I made $$ on but didn't help me.

Only problem with a new one from GM is that its still going to be that crap plastic that snaps if you touch it the wrong way......and shatters like glass.

The ABS one will be the last one you ever buy. On their ebay site they are also taking Best Offers....

Hopefully I will see the finished product in person Monday or Tuesday next week.

judging by a picture posted, to be honest it looks like crap haha. I hope the evaluation comes back good as i need one for my t/a. I bought a factory one for my old 96 z28 and i will probably end up buying a factory one for my t/a as well. My 96 got 16 years out of it before it broke and that was using crap armorall on it. When i replaced it used nothing but 303 aerospace protectant.

I'm sure everybody made that mistake by using armor all! 303 aerospace is the best product for plastic and rubber. glad I have three spare oem dash pads!

The post above looks like it may be promising. The texture looks a little rougher, but if that's a sacrifice for one that won't crack then I'll take it all day vs OEM that's eventually going to crack.

yeah, if it's just texture it could still get vinyl wrapped to cover that crap up, it comes down to fitment.

I bought a new GM one in 2011 before they went that high. Still worried about my other 2 TAs. I think I paid 280.
