I'm considering going with stainless steel badges for my Z28 Camaro. After being in the sun all day, I would imagine that they get very hot.

Will the heat coming off the badges damage the paint on the car?

The tape on the back is thick enough to dissipate heat from the paint surface. I wouldn't worry about this at all. I would be more worried about the prep and cleanliness of the surface prior to sticking them on the body.

P.S. I live in Florida, home of heat and humidity and my stainless emblems are showing no weakness

I've had stainless badges on my car since 2005 with no issues.
