Just recently, a buddy of mine had me hook him up with a full paint correction for his Dodge Cummins dually. Once the truck was washed and clay-bared, you could really see how bad the paint really was. Tons of marring and spider webbing. I was able to get all of the imperfections out of the paint by using Adams 1 and Adams 2 paint correcting polish, and their matching pads, by using my Harbor Freight dual action polisher. Finished it off with a nice coat of Adams Americana wax, and my buddy couldn't have been happier. Here are some pictures of how well it turned out. A big props to Adams products. Their stuff is easy to use and gets the job done. This job took me from about 8:30 a.m. till about 6:30 p.m.

Looks Awesome... Is there anyway you can send me a list of materials you used. I want to do this to my car and have no clue where to start. Reading through all these threads is making me feel then

First thing you'll need is a dual action polisher. I ordered mine from Harbor Freight.

Then, you'll need the actual paint correcting polishes. I ordered mine as a complete set from Adams. It comes with the two paint correcting polishes and the matching pads. The orange paint correcting polish is more abrasive and is to be used first with the matching orange pad. It removes more of the heavy marring and swirl marks. Next, you'll use the white polish, which is more of a finishing polish. You'll use that with the white pad. All of the Adams products are very straight forward and color matching, which makes it great for someone new to paint correction. Before I did my friend's truck, I had only done it one other time, and that was on my WS6, which turned out just as great as the truck did. I would highly recommend watching "how to" videos on YouTube in regards how to use a dual action polisher. Junkman's videos are what I watched and they were very helpful. Other than that, it's just a matter of getting in there and doing it. The most important thing, and the best advice I can give, would be to make sure you have the vehicle fully cleaned and clay bar the entire car to make sure that there is nothing left on the paint, as you don't want to be running a polisher across the paint if it's contaminated. Also, take your time and make as many passes as you need to in order to achieve fully correction. You'll learn through experience how much pressure to apply and when to apply that pressure. The second time around was much easier than when I did my car.

Chevyman1968, if you plan on doing a ton of vehicles, I'd opt for a more expensive dual action polisher, but the Harbor Freight one I've been using has been running like a champ and hasn't let me down yet.

This is what you need. Just get a dual action polisher, some dawn dish soap, a clay bar, and some good microfiber towels and you'll be good to go.

Yeah, it's a damn nice truck. Funny thing is my buddy bought it from a bank who had reposed it. He saw it sitting the in their parking lot so he went in and asked about it and the guy told him it was a repo with a clean title and that they would consider all offers. He test drove it, went back in and offered them $15,000. They took the offer and it was his. Did I mention that the truck only had 40,000 miles when he bought it. I'd say he stole that mother.

Thanks I plan on doing my personal vehicles. I was still looking into getting the porter cable 7424xp. But if you say the harbor freight one is holding up I may try that one. I want to get the car good and polished before before we go to Crusin the Coast in Oct.

The Harbor Freight one will do everything you need it to do. You can see how bad the paint was on that truck, and the Harbor Freight DA did terrific.

I can never find a deal like that. It be hard not to sell it and make money on that.

He's doubled up the miles that were on it when he bought it and he could turn around and sell it for one hell of a profit if he wanted to. Making money on a vehicle you've doubled the miles on is more rare than that damn gigantic prehistoric shark thing they say exists.

I've started looking at bank repo lists to see if I can find a good deal on a diesel.
