Tire shine, what do you use?
_
I use DNW tire shine its a local store it last about a week or two.
Just curious about what everyone uses keeping everything cleaned and shined is a big deal to me and tire are tough to keep clean sometimes. What ya got to keep em shined up
I use Stoners Tarminator on a cloth towel to clean the tires before use especially if they're brown or dirty.
Once they are clean then I apply a dressing. These are a few off the top of my head
Meguiar's D163 Tire & Trim Gel - Cream like lotion consistency. Goes on easy. Dries to the touch and will not sling. Like any tire dressing it's best to follow up with a light buff to remove any excess. Durability is about 2-3 weeks. It can be used on trim but it lasts about 2 weeks.
Meguiar's Ultimate Black Tire Coating - This is an aerosol spray. With aerosol's you are going to have to remove any overspray from the wheel. This one is not bad because the nozzle does a really nice job of getting it right on the tire. This one dries to the touch within a few minutes. Leaves a semi-gloss look to the tire. It will not get more glossy with more applications. This lasts about a month. This requires short bursts as if you are painting with a rattle can. This dressing was ok. I was expecting a little more.
Adam's Super VRT - Similar consistency as Meguiar's D163. Actually it's quite similar to Meguiar's D163. Works well.
Adam's Tire Shine - This is Adam's new tire shine and it works very well. Gloss can be controlled based on application method. Durability is decent as well. I removed it prior to letting it run it's full course but after two weeks it still looked great. I applied this by spraying it onto an applicator and working it into the tire. Will not sling after it dries a few minutes.
Mothers M Tech Tire Shine - This one was surprising. It's a spray on application. I apply it by spraying it onto an applicator and working it into the tire. This gives you the ability to control the gloss level. This one will not sling after it dries a few minutes. This one lasts about 2-3 weeks.
Pinnacle Black Onyx - This one works very well. One of my favorites. Leaves the tire looking black with a good level of gloss. This one lasts about 3-4 weeks.
Turtle Wax Jet Black Black Endura Shine Tire Coat Kit - This one is a sleeper. It's an acrylic coating. It dries to the touch and will not sling. Gloss level increases with more applications. It comes with everything in the box (cleaner, coating and gloves). I used 2 coats which looks good. I got 8 weeks out of this one. Over on Autogeek there are guys getting 12 weeks. Truly a sleeper product. Highly recommended.
Out of all of these Meguiar's D163 is my go to but Turtle Wax has become my favorite.
Here is a photo of my Trailblazer SS with Surf City Garage Professional Tire Dressing and Conditioner taken probably an hour ago in the Wal-Mart parking lot, as it was laptop charger time LOL! Should be noted that this application wasn't recent, has been rained on 5 times and the SS has sat outside a lot lately. Not thrilled to show a dirty wheel, but this picture helps attest to the durability of this dressing. You can use it full strength for this shine, or dilute it down 1:1 with water for a more matte finish. Like having two dressings in one bottle!
I always clean my tires first with SCG Pro APC Concentrate at 4:1 with a stiff brush. Don't forget we are running our Labor Day Sale-15% Off with NEW Products through 9/1!

To clean tires, nothing I've used has come close to Zep Fast 505 degreaser. It will take EVERYTHING off the tires so it is just bare rubber for the dressing to bond properly.
My favorite tire dressing of them all has to be Duragloss 253. It gives the tire a nice satin sheen, while appearing very dark a lustrous. It also holds up well to rain unlike most water based dressings like Zaino.
You can also use DG 253 on all plastic trim and it looks amazing and holds up well.
Super VRT is a long time go-to product for tire dressing, for sure.
However, the new Tire Shine is my absolute favorite now! The fact that you can determine how much gloss it gives it a huge plus. I like the look of SVRT, so I spray and wipe with an applicator. Let it dry for 10-15 minutes, and you have the look of SVRT with 2-3x the longevity. It's a win/win in my book!
