Removing Tail Panel Inserts On my Camaro, there's "Camaro" filler inserts and I'd like them removed before I start my Berger Panel project. They're not just paint, but "3D" for lack of a better term. Has anyone ever removed, or have experience getting these out without damaging the panel?
Go buy a package of floss and "saw" it back and forth behind the inserts and work your way through the double sided tape attaching it to the panel. You may use a lot of floss and I recommend wearing a pair of gloves so you don't cut through your skin wrapping the floss around your fingers for grip. It may take a while because of the shape and depth of the emblems. Be careful not to pull the emblem from the panel and bend it if you plan on reusing the emblems, BE PATIENT and take breaks because it may get frustrating and your floss may break many many times but just keep at it and they will come off. if your not reusing or selling the emblems and you are going to sand down the panel to paint then just rip them off any ole way. Its not going to mess us the panel, it may pull up some paint, but who cares your going to sand it flat before paint anyways.
