Default First time cut polishing

So I had a few light scratches on the car so I went to a Body shop supplier and he looked at the car and recommended a couple of polishes and pads. I had a cheap polisher.
Anyways I got the scratches out and then went over the whole car with the less aggressive polish. Everything came out well except for all the excess polish splatter, Its under the hood on the trip rubber. I know the polisher isn't the best and for some reason it would speed up and splash over the whole car.
Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

More than likely you are using way too much product and not cleaning/changing pads often enough. What polish are you using?

What he said!^^^^^^ Try rubbing the polish over the working area of the panel first with the pad before you turn on the DA. It will help

When I apply the product to the pad, I always hand work the DA/pad over the area, working the product into the paint by hand before turning on the machine. This helps with not splattering the product. But, as others have said, you likely used far too much product. A little goes a very long way when it comes to polishes.

What machine, pad and compound are you using? All of things help determine how to prime/season the pad.
