bought a set of wheels pretty cheap. was wonderign if this is fixable? well if its something i can fix at home or would a shop need to do it? if so what can i use?
im talking about the pitting or discoloration on the lip.
I tried some polishing compound on my rims a while back. Even bought a kit online. I spent all day on one rime and I still wasn't happy. Get a shop to give a quote imo.
It is fixable if you just strip the clear coat off and roll with a polished wheel. Once the clear coat is gone, you can polish them up. If you are still not happy, start wet sanding and then polish again. No offense to you or anything, but I sure as hell wouldn't pay someone to fix those wheels. It's not like they are expensive, high end, wheels.

Yeah, if you can sand them smooth, then I think they would look fine painted, or even plasti-dipped.
