Billet grille improvement suggestion. Am I the only one who thinks this?
So I have been looking all over for the best grilles for my LS1 camaro and currently I am looking at the RK sport grille, but I keep feeling like the billet grille look could be cool but it just feels like it doesn't fit the opening the way it should and could. I did a quick photo shop of what I think should be done about this. Does anyone else feel this way or am I just letting the designer in me get out of hand? I know a lot of people buy this grille because it is the cheapest but eventually upgrade to an SLP, wings west, or RK sport. Maybe if this change is made the billet style grille might be a better quality piece. Is there anyone out there that has to resources to produce this to see if i'm right?
Personally I prefer the black but this was a good shot and the contrast of the billet shows the difference much better than black would.

I personally don't like billet grills in camaros but if I had to go that route I'll get one from 6LE designs.....
I'm about to buy a RK sport or west wing grill here shortly. To me they the best looking one. Look at the thread I have stated about the grills.

Yeah I looked at that last week but I just wanted to send a feeler out there to see if anyone agrees. I haven't seen a new grille for our cars in awhile (probably due to the 5th gen guys) but thought maybe an improvement on an older design might spark some interest. I also am not a billet fan for our cars compared to the matte black ones like this:
But the edge treatment is still the same as the billet one which drives me nuts. Maybe 6LITEREATER could shed some light on if this is do able or not?

I understand it is a 2nd gen car but that is the gen. that the third and fourth are based off of so naturally I would expect a lot of the parts to match looks wise. That's the only reason I posted this. The grille here is what inspired me to do the photoshop version that I did

Tried that about 5 years ago, it ends up looking HORRIBLE. Like a fish puckering up for a kiss. Framing the grill with more metal just makes it look smaller and like a fish with braces for some reason.
Better option is black with black behind so it's not an eye sore.
BEST option is make your own like we did for Brian's (McNord) car to look like the old split bumper style grille... which of course now I can't find the pic of lol. Looked just like this minus the emblem...

I have seen this too and wouldn't mind that. What did you make it from? A current grille from a different year car or all from scratch? What would pricing be to have one made that fits the stock LS camaro grille opening?
