Default Corbeau CR1 material/foam durability??

Does anyone on here daily drive their 4th gen with the Corbeau CR1 race shaped recliners with the 'microsuede' material??

If so, how has this material (AND the foam/cushions underneath it) hold up?

Any thin/worn out spots or crushed/warped cushions/bolsters?

Did the bottom cushion 'suspension' collapse, and fall apart like it did on my 'great' Recarco?

I ask because I do NOT want to go through the same waste of coin I did with my one, driver's side Recaro SPD, which is turning out to be the WORST, P.O.S. garbage seat (as far as longevity/durability is concerned).
And this is with what they considered at the time to be their 'toughest' 'Avus' fabric.

I think one of the crapola, Pep Boyzz, APC ricer seat's cushions/bolsters/fabric would have held up better, for 1/6th the cost!!
(So much for Teutonic 'superiority'/"quality". )

Thanks in advance.

Mine use to be daily, they have about 10k miles on them. The seat fabric is a bit thin but I've never had any issues with foam or being mis shapen. I'm 6 foot four, 230 and haven't had any problems.

THANKS!

I guess anything will be better than the ripoff, fall apart if you look at them wrong, Recaros.

Also, at least Corbeau offers new covers and foam/cushions IF theirs do wear out, Recaro, on the other hand, will tell you to go pound sand as they neither offer replacement parts, NOR will they warranty ANYTHING, after charging more than almost anyone else for their inferior recliner seats!!

Yeah they are very simple to disassemble if needed.

I also frequent a local restoration shop that use to be performance oriented and they have been using the same set of corbeau cr1 seats as desk chairs for close to ten years now. The bolsters on the bottom are pushed out from the wide load customers but they are not flappy and still have good form and fit to everything

I have CR1's in my car. They were originally red cloth but I had them reupholstered with factory Corbeau covers in grey/black microsuede with leather bolster edges. Pretty much what chrysler kid said. The bottom and lower sides on my drivers side one was broken a bit so the upholstery shop fixed that and added a bit more foam to the bottom and lower back to give a little more support than stock. Didn't get to drive them much after that though. I will say that 3M Scotchgard is the best product to use to protect microsuede from abuse. Apply the foaming cleaner & protector if the seats have been used or are slightly dirty. Apply the protector to provide the max protection. I think if you apply the cleaner & protector first and then as soon as that's dry, apply the protector, you'll get the best results. I applied the protector to my covers when they were brand new and did a water test. Poured water out of a warm water bottle onto the surface and the water beaded up and rolled off. After the covers were installed, I was doing some wiring work in my car and noticed a blue plastic shaving from a crimp connector had melted into the microsuede from the heat of my leg. I couldn't extract it by rubbing on it and was pretty worried until I tried the Scotchgard cleaner & protector, which took it right out. I keep the cleaner & protector inside the car behind the drivers seat for emergencies like that (it works with cloth & microsuede so I guess it would work for carpets too).

Also, if you haven't bought them yet, consider purchasing the Wide verison. Take some measurements or call around to find a local Corbeau distributor that may have some in stock to see how comfortable they are.

Yes, I am buying them new, and yes, I was planning on ordering them in the wide if only because I drive this car EVERY day, even in the winter when I sometimes wear a thick North Face down 'bubble/Michelin Man' jacket, so I do need the room, even though I'm not too heavy.
(A very tight 'fitting' sparco shell like their; Pro 2000/Evo/Light would NEVER work for me on the street.)
