It may work fine, but it's not a FIX, it's a lipstick job, it's covering up the real problem that still exist below it instead of actually opening it up and FIXING the source of the problem.
well with our generation birds, youre kinda screwed either way, either you have the grids that delaminate, or the honeycomb ones that leak and cause the chrome to dull and bulbs to blow. Only saving grace (if you can call it that) are the base tails from 93-97, which some on here have modified with decals or paint and actually made them look decent. Im still trying to come up with a pattern that would look good on the 6le clear lenses, but haven't found one that would work. Maybe make the grids bigger, only have 3 lines instead of the OEM 7 lines, or maybe make the honeycomb design bigger. I always thought inside of the grids were just decals, but I got a taillight that was busted and inside it looks like hard black plastic attached to the clear lens, actually a nice piece of engineering.
Or you could drop big cash on clear HC's and have the same issue
I ended up going with covers. I stumbled across some nice grids in the junkyard though, so I still might buy them and play around with the look.
I'm either going to get some 6LE clear lenses (no vinyl/paint, just the clear lens), install my own LED internals, and tint the outside, or buy some acrylic smoke covers and hack apart a set of stock tails (I have some cracked delaminated grids that would work perfectly).

at least thats what I think ZexGX means.
Exactly. There's no way to FIX the problem. At least with the honeycombs you can apply additional sealant around the perimeter and prevent the fogging issue from happening.

The honeycombs can be sealed around the perimeter before any leaks occur, but I've never done it. Only had one leak on me - the one that came on the car and had a hole drilled into the outer lens - out of 6 different honeycombs (3 sets) I've had on my car.
I got a set of 93-97 V6 tails for a steal a while back. Might do a retro tail style paint mod to them.
I posted a pic over a year ago of a broken honeycomb showing what you are describing - how the honeycomb is actually injection molded into the same plastic as the outer clear layer and the inner red layer, none of which can be separated. Was disheartening to a lot of people hoping for clear honeycombs.
I wanted to get a clear set without the honeycomb for something else i had planned but he sold out before I got to it. I think the issue was the decal grid was designed as a flat art so when it stretched into the curved shape it distorted a bit.
