Rear bumper compatibility?

Rear bumper compatibility? Hey all,
so the paint on my rear bumper recently got ****ed by some idiot in a parking lot. Crashed a shopping cart into it and it ripped the paint off the right corner. Doesn't look to be much, if any damage to the actual bumper cover itself though.
I'm currently debating between repainting the bumper myself (something I'm not 100% sure on how to do... never painted an automotive part before) and finding one online that's in good condition. So my question is: are all rear bumpers for 4th gens the same? Or is a 98-02 bumper different from the 93-97?

Also, if someone could point me in the direction of a good how-to on automotive painting guide for dummies that would be great.

They should be the same, just verify paint code. Meaning just because its red it may be a slightly different shade that changed over the years. They also changed names but kept the same code. Example, in 01 red was bright rally red. I just bought a 98 model bumper and it was called something different but the paint code indicated it was the exact same shade just a different name. Google camaro paint code to compare over the years.
