Here is mine painted. Used a red scotchbrite pad on the entire thing, wiped down with wax and grease remover, Then hung the part from a tree and used satin black with a slight texture to it. Looks like brand new plastic part. You would never guess it was painted. Don't mind the rusty bolt heads. Those are getting wire wheeled and painted too soon.
