I went red on my pewter bird, but black bushings on the parts that got new urethane bushings (like the sway bars). I like it, not that you ever really see any of it unless you climb under the car.

Black for pretty much everything. But there's nothing wrong with doing a piece or two in an accent color. My car now has all black chassis, springs, etc. with silver shocks to break things up a bit. And I went red for the front/rear sway bars.

Using color more sparingly usually gives a nicer look. It can start to look bad when you toss in too much color... ESPECIALLY when you have a lot of accent pieces that don't perfectly match.. Nothing worse -IMO- than multiple shades of red, orange, blue, etc in close proximity. Those seem to be the 3 colors that most often have the issue to me in engine bays and undercarriage

Coming from another Pewter owner, go black.

Do you have ANY inspection problems with long tubes, no catcons, and before axle dumps in Pennsyltuckey, or do you 'know' someone??

No I don't. If you look close enough the car does have aftermarket cats on it. Its tuned so it doesn't throw any codes. Also I only drive it 1500 miles a year. You don't need emissions till you hit 5000 miles in Pa. As for the dumped exhaust my tech lets that fly.

From a former Pewter car owner, black. Some red is OK but majority black.

Roger on that, I forgot all about the 5K mile rule, and I am so used to seeing the polished stainless, 'metal matrix', high flow catcons on any longtube/big y pipe set up, that I did not even notice your universal (but 'stock style') catcons on there.

Plus, I just found out recently that certain less populated, more rural counties 'out there in the middle' of the state do not even have emissions inspection for those driving OVER 5K miles a year.

Viper - Yea that's all I'm doing as far as red. I think I went a little overboard myself. I wish the sub frame connectors were black. Cause you can see them from the side if you know what you are looking for. Everything else will be black.
dailydriver - The cats are just for show. Haha! They are "high flow". And are as hollow as the 3" exhaust pipe. The whole exhaust in getting old. I'm going to take the header back to Van industries in Birdsboro Pa. They are going to clean it up and high temp ceramic coat this winter. I didn't know that about emission. I thought all of PA had the same rules. I'm in Chester County.

If you want be more flashy and visible go with the red powder coating and if you want something a little more hidden and less conspicuous go for the black.

I went with black for my pewter ss. Only thing that isn't are the red bmr springs and sway bar end links.
