Question Tire shine and 35th LE wheels

Afraid to use tire shine (spray or applicator) with my LE wheels thinking it could fade the paint over time. Was wondering if anyone has used any tire shine without it being detrimental to the wheels?

Tire shine goes in your tires.. shouldn't get on your wheels unless you're doing something wrong.

Only time this would be an issue is if a sloppy "detailer" just globs on a ton of tire shine from a bucket - like they do at some of the hand car washes around here. Proper application goes a long way in avoiding such ugliness.

I dress my tires all the time. But I don't use any aerosol or spray type products. I just polished mine up you can see what tire gel I used.

I agree on never going with an aerosol tire shine spray. Buy something you can apply to an applicator and then dress your tires. Doing it this way you should never get anything on the wheels.

Just use a foam applicator, that's what I do.

Definitely applicator. I use Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel, and I love it. The liquid is purple in the bottle, but don't let it fool you. It gives a wet, black shine.

Here it is on my Grand Prix:

A foam applicator is definitely the route you need to go. If however you insist on using a spray, what I've done in the past for using spray on the daily is take a peice of the pvc sigh material they use for yard sale signs and cut it in a circle the same diameter as your wheels then cut two rectangles in the middle like an = to use as a handle. Hold it up to wheel, spray, done. Store in garage for next time you can use card board too, but it will deteriorate from water and/ or tire shine being sprayed on it.

Remember your wheels are measured bead to bead, so the face of your 18" wheel will probably be 19" or so. Same goes for any size wheel.

I use CarPro PERL and apply it thinly with a foam applicator or damp cloth. This allows me to get it only on the tires and doesn't leave a bunch of gunk to accumulate dirt.
