The previous owner put these Spyder Projector Halo headlights in and I am wanting to put HIDs in it because the H1 halogens that come in them are not very bright at all which makes it hard to see. Has anybody done this with these headlights and if so were there any problems with fitment, melting or beam pattern?
Yes. Those are rebranded Sonar lights like I had (the lens has the brand name printed on them below the high beam bucket I believe) and I ran 5000k 35W H1 HID in mine. Not as good as a true HID projector but they aren't bad for a pre-made offering. Certainly a lot better than some others I've seen out there.
Don't do any higher than 35W HID or you will damage something.

Yeah they do say sonar on them. I have some H1 35W 6000K HIDs for it. I saw the one where people were talking about the awful beam pattern they could have. I think you were one of them actually. Thanks for the info too. I didn't really wanna give up the HIDs or have to do the $150 Retrofit kit.
Is there any way to make those head lights look any better? For some reason mine look funny with black housing on a black car. When you look at them from about 30ft or farther away they look weird. Is there anything to spruce them up a little at all? lol
The H3 lights by another brand were the ones with a really bad pattern. These were passable in my experience.
They do look a little odd around the high beam bucket IMO with the almost regular looking high beam reflector that has a halo slapped in there, but I never did anything with them. Not sure what you really could do honestly.
They don't look too bad. I'm sure you can swap the projectors themselves to something better and run a proper HID setup. I'm pretty sure there was some talk on HIDplanet about brackets or something to swap Mini H1's into Sonar or Spyder projectors.
