Default Trans Am exhaust tips

I have been wanting to replace the SLP dual dual exhaust tips on the 98 T/A that my wife calls hers. We were at Norwalk Pontiac Nats over the weekend and she saw a couple 4th Gens there with the dual wall dual tips. She started to like those and I think I got the go ahead to get them. I have been looking at the dual SS tips that are on the SSClones.com website. Has anyone ordered from them recently? Just wanted to see about quality and service. Didn't see any recent posts about them during a search, so I was a little leary about ordering from them before I asked around. I also saw that Flowmaster made similar tip, but I didn't want the Flowmaster name embossed on the tips. Thanks for any advice.

I don't have them, but I have heard good reviews about them. They look good and fill out the bumper cutouts.

I bought a pair a year ago or so. They were and still are perfect. Look right at home on a T/A. I would really consider getting the 4". I got the 3.5" and love them. But if I could go back I'd get the 4".

If these are the tips you are looking for then get the 4" ones. Really fills in the back bumper. Not sure how much I paid for them though and I got them on ebay.

I have the 3.5"s. Good tips. I would also opt for the 4"s though. The 3 5"s don't quite fill the bumper.

Bringing back this thread after finally picking up a set of 2.5" in 3.5" out dual tips. Just wanted to see how others have installed these tips. I was thinking of using a lap style band clamp, but the inlet on the tips seem quite a bit bigger than 2.5". Its not that big of a difference, maybe just less than a 1/4", but enough that I don't think the band clamp will tighten enough. I was thinking of getting a connector or a short piece of pipe to slide over the tailpipe and into the tip that is 2.5" inner diameter to take up the space. I thought that I saw a thread on how someone dealt with this issue, but I couldn't find it. Don't have a welder handy, and wanted to use that as a last resort since the car is being stored right now.

I did your idea, a short piece of pipe to take up the slack, and a band clamp along with exhaust header wrap. No leaks. I don't have a welder either.

I just spent $40 and had an exhaust shop weld them on for me.

I had to do the same by slipping a small piece over the tailpipe and then slide the tip on. Worked great*

Was able to put one of the tips on today. Surprisingly, the band clamp tightened up just fine and everything seems tight and secure without anything additional. I might still do the small piece of pipe over the tailpipe just for added security.

Got both mounted up with the band clamps. Turned out pretty sharp. It had the SLP dual dual tips that came with the Loudmouth system. They looked ok too, but I like the dual wall look of these tips even better.
