these look like the chrome ones can you confirm

 

Yeah I used some aluminum tube from home depot same spot I got the threaded rod. I also used two metal screws on the back to dial in the height of the fog lights.

 

Are you guys taking the front bumper off to work on the foglights? These lights look really good and I'd like to give it a shot.

 

No you just need to undo the 3 body pins under the car to the front bumper. It pulls back enough to get to everything.

That is a very nice upgrade. I'm considering trying this. Do you think they are adequate enough to use as driving lights? They look like they put out more light than the stock low beams that come on these cars from those pictures but the exposure may be playing tricks on my eyes.

 

When I first saw them, that was honestly my first thought. I can't test against OEM lows, but I am curious.

I think the pictures are fairly accurate as far as lighting. Maybe matt1289 will chime in and give his opinion.

 

Also curious on if it's enough output. Would love to be able to solid mount the headlight lids and just run these as fogs.

 

When it stops raining around here, I'll go to a dark back road and see how just the fogs perform. Suppose to rain till the weekend, but we'll see.

 

Off topic but does anyone know if these in 4" will fit a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500. Thanks. These seem more attractive than paying $200 for the morimoto ones offered.

Another question, is it absolute necessary to cut off the bracket where the OEM adjuster screw is? I like to be able to go back to stock if for any reason I need to. It looks like the connector would fit right in that hole instead of cutting off all of the metal unless there were clearance issues.

 

I'm not sure, depends on how big the opening is.... these are 4 1/2".

I think you will have to cut it off. Just to get the stock fogs out you have to remove the fog light first and then the bracket can come out. If you kept the bracket, I'm sure it can be welded back on.

 

after It took me years to put my fogs back in and wire in some hids..........im sorely tempted by this, that black no black is nice looking.

 

I highly recommend it, the fogs are actually useful.

yeah i bought a set of used fog light housings for mine when I switched to the TA bumper but took me forever to put them on (like last year i put them back in). I tried to clean them up quite a bit but they look about as rough as yours do. For the price its hard to turn them down really.
