Are you talking about under body neons? I'm not a big fan of them myself and think they are kind of gay in general. But, i have seen a few hotrods with them that looked good when parked, only because every last nut and bolt under the car was polished or plated. I would say put your money into making the car quicker or some more tasteful appearance mods.

Agreed, if you want comps on your car invest in other mods. Alot of people will say "Hahaha, Look at those stupid lights on the T/A". Well, that is what I would say. Anyways, it doesn't take very much to get comps on your car. The other day a couple old ladies said "Nice Car" to me. I was like "uh, Ok, thanks?" Well, alot of people compliment my car, there isn't nothing special done too it. It is just really clean. If you start adding lights, it will take away from your car.

I was under the impression that he was just going to use a bunch of light bulbs

He's talking about Underbody neons. Something like StreetGlow, or one of those setups.

Hey man its your car you can install whatever the hell you want don't let people tell you otherwise. My personal feeling is that on a TA driving down the street it will look ricey. I understand if it were for a car show. Somebody here put some neons in the hood nostrils and it looked ok.

Considering you're asking on this forum, you're probably someone who cares deeply about what others will think about your car. In this case, I'd say avoid the lights because you'll be unhappy when others call it rice.

I absolutely agree...it's his car and the bottom line for the decision is his... but he did ask us what we think and...well he's being told LOL

I agree, it is his car, and he should do what he wants to it. IMO if you dont mind being called a Ricer, then do it. But I wouldnt do that to an F body.

I'm guessing by your User Name that your car is yeller, right???

In that case, the only neons that will look even ALMOST not Gay would be yellow neons, in which case I say no, don't do it.

If your car was Black, White or Dark Blue, you could run White neons, which look really cool, IMO.

Something you might wanna look at is the Wheel Well neons, that just light up though the wheels. Those are pretty unique, and yellow probably would look cool in that application.

I just think yellow underbodies would be too much yellow, but any other color won't look right.

Hope all that makes sense.

Taco

P.S. Like others have said, though, it really don't matter what we think, do what you wanna do, it is your car, so do what makes you happy. Look at it this way, they have an on/off switch. If you don't get good response, leave them off, sell 'em, junk 'em, whatever.

If you decide to buy some neon lights go here: http://www.oznium.com

You can buy the one that changes to 7 different colors instead of just 1. I have them and they work nice. I have a control panel under my seat and you just push a button to change the colors/pattern. Hope that helps
