BLS here as well. Time = $$$$. LT1 lights are more expensive, and I suck at arts and crafts. That is why I paid a little more for their kit. If you don't have time to fart around, their kit is the way to go, and performance is definitely out of this world. Pretty much plug and play.

Check out the retrofit source's headlights under closeouts. They have several different mini H1 options out there, from $20/pair of projectors up. Also anything they have that's "B-Stock", everything I've read about it is that it appears A-stock to people that have bought it.
Realistically you could purchase new eBay reflector housings (black or chrome), $20 projectors, $10 shrouds and the HID kit you want (I recommend Morimoto, but I'm partial and you just as well go with Chinese). So for ~$200 you could do an actual retrofit if you want to spend a couple hours doing it. The projectors mount in the headlight super easy, the base of the projector goes through the reflector hole and attaches on the outside with the included nut. You have several different shroud options if you wanted to have a little different look than everyone else and/or pick what color to paint the internals.
Of course a cheap and simple option would be to buy a set of eBay projectors and just not hook up the halo's. I'm with you, no way would I run them too.

You wont regret doing your headlights the proper way. Even if its pricier than just dropping a HID bulb in a stock housing, your car will be safer at night, and look a lot newer too. Its just something that most people overlook until they actually see it in person

It is great to hear folks are enjoying our products!
We were holding off on a GP until the Morimoto product supply issue was resolved. This seems to be the case so keep an eye out for a GP posting perhaps even as soon as this weekend!

BLS has a ready-made kit, but you could make your own custom setup if you want. Others have done it. Check out the Lighting FAQ. https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...hting-faq.html

I've been through the FAQs. Just not sure how bad I want to risk a DIY.. It amazes me how there's no aftermarket stuff w/o halos. Not saying BLS isn't worth it, just saying I'd expect that from a Mercedes or something but not a MASS produced 18 year old car lol
I may just use stockers with the whistler til I can save up enough to go BLS.
