Has anyone used a dash cap if you were missing a few pieces of your original dash?I have read somewhere that you can use the dash cap without your original dash pad underneath, you just have to find a way to secure it? Is this true or not?

There's an advertisement for a full recreated dash pad on eBay for around 260$. I've had my eye on it for a while but it looks like a pretty good replacement. If you can't find it pm me.
