Default SLP bowtie grille

bought a used slp bowtie grille and am surprised to see that it doesnt have any provisions to attach it with push pins like the original grille. It had been mounted with two sided tape I guess right to the bumper cover. does this seem right?

Mine has some holes that you had to mark and drill into the front fascia. Then you used push pins to attach.

seems like an aftermarket piece. They came from SLP with holes drilled in the grille and bumper and attached with christmas tree pushpins

Did a search and saw some old posts where some people mentioned using the two sided tape. I guess they were made both ways. Can't see that somebody other than Slp made any of these.

Just took old grille off. Before I use the tape, could someone post a pic of where the holes for the push pins are? Maybe I will go that way.

Just missed getting one of these on ebay yesterday. I will eventually find one out there. Please post some pics of your install.

Thanks

Completely normal. That just means you have the early production run bow tie grill. I purchased a car from the original owner a few years ago. He bought the car brand new in 2000. Purchased the bow tie grill from SLP right after he drove off the lot--and had the dealership install it. No holes for mounting-- just a ton of double sided tape.
