Default Firehawk Build Thread

My buddy's and I have this project far along enough that I thought it was worth making a post about it. I picked up a Firehawk roller locally a few months ago to take the place of my white SS that I nodded off in while driving home from work. I wanted another Camaro but I've had bad luck with them and I just don't think it is meant to be for me to own a Camaro right now.

Saw this roller on facebook it was being converted into a drag car but then the owner changed their mind about cutting it up and sold it as is. I picked up the roller and a box full of parts and I still had the wrecked SS to steal whatever parts I was missing. This roller was missing everything from fuel and brakes lines to rear lower control arms and everything behind the dash.

We are making good head way now and here are some pictures I have taken along the way. Originally the plan was to just swap in my drivetrain and get it running but that quickly escalated into upgrading some stuff and cleaning up parts and powder coating them.

So far we have installed a BTR cam and spring kit in my motor. I've purchased a old school fast 90 intake along with TSP 1 7/8th headers and a borla catback. The car has strano/koni kit on it and will have new rotors, pads and braided brake lines on it. I also purchased an Iroc spoiler and swapped out the T/A bumper for the Formula bumper just like my white Formula.

Anyways here are some random pics.

This is how the car showed up.

Tried out my buddys 505A's but I'm just a sucker for Classics.

Had the Classics off my SS powder coated satin/gloss gunmetal and had custom center caps etched with the Firehawk logo.

I also recovered the engine harness in Techflex F6 braided wrap and fixed a bunch of wires that had been burned through.

That is it for now. I'm waiting on some more parts to arrive and will update this thread as progress is made. Thanks for looking.

Great progress! I love that you are putting a Firehawk back on the road. The center caps are especially cool. It's touches like those that take a car to the next level. Could you possibly PM me the name / info of the company that etched them? I have a set of caps that I would like etched for my T/A. Thanks!

It will share dd duties with my FRC until the FRC is stored away for its build.

Been busy at work haven't done much on the car the past few days. Powder coated a few more brackets and cleaned up and painted the fast 90 with VHT wrinkle finish paint. Considering getting some silver paint and brushing the raised lettering on the intake.

Everything looks like its coming out really good! I am curious though, what powder coating gun are you using? I can't tell from the pictures but I can't see any blemishes or orange peel. Looking to get a better gun for my own stuff.

Thanks, I meant to send this the other day but I guess I didn't hit reply. Going to look into getting the EZ100. Everything looks like it came out really good and it seems like a great gun for the price.

I always like what you do, but I'm unsure of the wheels at the moment. Maybe it's the lack of tire shine and 4x4 status that's throwing it off. Look forward to seeing it on the ground!

Looking Dope

I like all the powder work, did you build your own oven?

even in offroad moad those 505a's look so good! god if only I had that kind of spare change to drop on wheels. Id run an 18/19 combo in a heartbeat! Ive never cared for classics personally, but the car is gonna be gorgeous when its finished with all those personal touches.

The progress is impressive. The coated intake looks good and I think those CCW Classics tie in well with the Firehawk logo. Much better than the polished 505's. Great work as usual!
