Default ebony interior swap and Sparco R100's installed

Finally got around to doing something I've been planning on for years. The 21 year-old light gray interior was starting to show its age and was is need of a refresh.

The seats sit slightly higher than the stockers. Each could be dropped 1.25" if I ditch the sliders. I could also drop the drivers side seat another 2" if I modify the seat bracket. Pretty happy with the results thus far. Planning to finish off the interior with a Sparco wheel.

Parts list
  • Ebony plastics and door panels via ebay
  • seat brackets from ebay
  • NRG sliders from ebay
  • Sparco R100 seats
  • Charcoal carpet from stockinteriors
  • 50sq feet of sound deadening
  • New window motors
  • Derlin shift ****

They feel like a good quality seat, nice and solid. They are difenattly firm but I wouldn't say uncomfortable.

Do they sit higher? What brackets did you use?

looks good! I also did the ebony interior swap on my 94 MQB Z last spring and like it a lot better than the grey interior that was in it. I still have the grey headliner and carpet though as I haven't had a chance to source a new carpet yet.

I got my carpet from RockAuto, they have many colors to choose from.

Good job, the black makes the blue exterior pop.

Really like it so far, it pairs nicely with a new MGW shifter.
