Pardon my ignorance... is there a difference.between 5 speed snd 6 center console? I have an M6 95 TA and found an M5 98 firebird console. Wondering if possibly for some strange reason the shift area would be smaller for one less gear
IIRC. The 95 and 98 consoles will be different all together though. 93-96 cars has the console lid that flipped back toward the rear seats and the 98+ console has the lid that opens toward the passenger seat. The part where the shifter and cup holder is also different, however I'm pretty sure they'll both work in either year cars.
totally missed the year comment SCJ is correct. The entire console is swappable, but to just use the shifter section you will need one from the 93-96 era. Also there are some subtle color differences depending on your year and color Im not entirely sure but there may have been differences between camaro and Firebird colors in 98 they received the same center console as the birds. Going from Charcoal/Pewter Graphite to Ebony the later being a little darker.
