Headlight Adjustment Maxed Out!!

Headlight Adjustment Maxed Out!! I adjusted the left to right adjustment on the driver side headlight... it was aimed all the way over into the passenger side headlight's beam.
Now the headlight assembly looks odd (not centered in the body panel)
Any idea what would cause the aim point to be off so far? Had to max out the adjustment to get it back. Im guessing something is off with the housing??
