Default Painted my seats with vinyl and fabric spray paint

My seats were originally light grey and over time heat has made the faded and kinda cracked looking. I recently got black carpet and all black trim pieces so I said wtf and gave it a shot. I cleaned them up real good with soap and water and let them dry overnight. Bought some duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint in flat black and went to town lol. I figured they were already in bad shape so I couldn't really hurt them. Turned out way better than I expected...Here is a before pic and some after. They all turned out the same...

Very nice. So this actually helped to make the small cracks less visible?

going from grey to black I would say so. It covered a bunch of small cracks. Sticks to the back of the back seat carpet very good as well.

I did this years ago with fabric and vinyl paint and had no problems. It dries in 10 minutes...after I painted these I waited only an hour and tried to rub it off with a old white t-shirt and nothing came off at all. Your buddy probably used regular spray paint..

I don't care what you say there is no way that holds up to even normal use.

Looks good for now so remember it!

I only drive my car maybe once a week. It's not a daily. I understand your thought process but this paint is made to flex and not crack. It is very flexible and don't just rub off...my seats were so faded and looked so bad it didn't matter to me. Seats are almost 20 years old so I'm not worried about them lol...

How will it do in heat? My car sits out in my work parking lot with the T-tops off and the sun beating down so I'm curious if that would affect it bleeding off

My old mustang seats that I painted years ago never faded or rubbed off due to heat. They lasted several years then I sold the car. This is in the hot Texas heat. We don't really see cold here..

Did you use dye or paint? A good dye won't come off or fade, used it a few times on seats/door panels and arm rests and it lasted for many years and looked good.

Got the paint from O'Reilly. AutoZone has it also. Flat black. It came out with a little shine but not much. Glad I didn't go with gloss. Just cleaned them up real good with soap and water and let them dry overnight.

How's this holding up? Does it fade after a few months? Thinking about going from grey to black
