Looks like they have some other items as well; CME valance, front bumpers, skirts . . . Wish the sail panels were closer to 300; $590 stills seams a little high for me, but hopefully they’re good quality.

Whats the deal with the factory sail panels....? If they bubble......then they get properly prepped and repainted what is causing this issue to keep happening? I would think it would happen to every one of them.

My factory paint never had an issue....and after I had my car repainted 8 years ago its still perfectly fine.

How is it only happening to some...?

.

It's the glue on newer cars. Older ones dont have the problem. If you are good then you are lucky!.

The glue gm started using in '99 eats the fiberglass resin and causes an outgas problem. The gas works its way up through the fiberglass and gets trapped under the paint and makes bubbles. High temps or direct sunlight makes the process speed up and generates more bubbles. There is no fix since the fiberglass is compromised. If you have a '98 or older it's not a problem.

Some folks have speculated that it was a glue change, but I think it had more to do with the change in underside panel prep at the factory (allowing glue to seep through, regardless of supplier or brand).

You haven't seen this on yours because you have a '98. 1993 through most of 1998 cars are unaffected (transition took place sometime during May of '98, so only 05/98 or later cars have this problem). All '99+ examples are subject to this. GM issued a TSB, but failed to include the fact that the last ~2.5 months of '98 production was also impacted. Here's a link to all the details, including the TSB:

There is no way to fix this issue from the topside, the panel has to come off.

Maybe they were the manufacturer for 6LE? I always thought RK sport made a lot of 6LE body panels towards the end but its been awhile since I followed the whole saga and demise..

That TA body kit
